This Thursday afternoon, in Lille, the Hauts-de France region is organizing a forum to which business leaders, training organizations, students and job seekers will be invited. The aim of this meeting will be to discuss the construction sector and allow these students and job seekers to discover new professions, and of course, to find a job.

A key event for a dynamic sector

In the Hauts-de-France department in particular, the building and public works (BTP) sector is recruiting, since 12,500 positions are to be filled in the region. Yet it is an area that has difficulty in seducing. The city of Lille has therefore decided to react, in collaboration with the Region.

The region’s action plan therefore includes an event organized at its headquarters on Thursday, October 3. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., young students and job seekers will be able to meet representatives of various companies and training organizations.

Round tables are planned for the afternoon, around which participants will of course be able to discuss, but above all a job dating allowing candidates to entrust their motivation and their CV to about twenty different companies, as well as to several training organizations.

A mobilized region

The region has also programmed spaces which will allow visitors to discover the many trades and training linked to the construction sector, thanks to groups of employers for integration and qualification (GEIQ). Those interested will also have the opportunity to discuss with employees and apprentices in order to get a concrete idea of ​​what training is, then what the job is.

The afternoon of October 3 is part of an information and recruitment plan supported by the Region. A construction employment and training hub aims to support and strengthen the sector in terms of discovering professions, recruiting, but also employee loyalty.

The members of this system seek to solve, in addition to the building and public works sector, recruitment problems in target trades such as roofing, climate engineering, network assembly, construction management, or topography.
